Testing for EV chargers and CSMS

Reporting near 100% uptime?

TimeTick provides continuous uptime assurance, based on controlled charging sessions.

TimeTick is a cloud platform for testing EV chargers and charging backends. Run OCPP test suites on individual chargers, load-test your CSMS with thousands of virtual charge points, and get reproducible, audit-ready reports whenever you need them.

Who this is for

Five roles, five questions

Two of these roles run the tests. The other three use the results.

What does one failed firmware rollout cost you?

Recalled units, an SLA fine or a cancelled contract cost more than a test run. Test the release before it ships.

How many weeks did your team lose to the last bug that only showed up in the field?

Some bugs appear only when thousands of chargers hit the CSMS at once. Reproduce that load with virtual charge points before release.

Could you show a regulator dated test results today?

Every TimeTick run is dated and logged, so the results are ready when your regulator asks.

Could you show an auditor how your chargers authenticate to the CSMS?

CRA, NIS2 and EN 18031 expect you to know your protocol's attack surface. Test Security Profiles and certificates before the audit.

How many truck rolls last month followed a firmware update?

An update that breaks charging sends technicians to every affected site. Test it against your CSMS before rollout.

Where TimeTick helps

“We won't know if the new firmware holds up under load until it's already at a customer site.”
Head of Engineering

Test it before it ships

Run OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 test suites and a load test before firmware reaches a customer.

“We have an uptime report, but we're not sure it reflects reality.”
Compliance Manager

File the report with confidence

Build a UK PCPR reliability report from your own OCPI data. See which charge points pull your figure down.

“Our next security audit will ask how chargers authenticate to the backend. We've never tested that end to end.”
CISO

Test your OCPP security setup

Check TLS, certificates and mutual charger–backend authentication (Security Profiles) before a security audit.

“Every time we roll out a new charger model, our technicians end up on site because it won't start sessions.”
Head of Operations

Test a new charger model before you roll it out

Connect the charger to TimeTick as its backend and run the core charging scenarios before it reaches your sites.

“There's an ISO 15118-20 deadline, and no official test suite for it yet.”
CTO / charger manufacturer

Get ahead of the official test suite

ISO 15118-20 is on our roadmap. Join the early-access list before an official test suite exists.

How it works

The same test, run the same way every time

An uptime figure shows that a station is available. It doesn't show that a driver can plug in and start a charge. Most failures happen at that step, according to independent field tests.

01
We run

We run test scenarios over OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1. Virtual charge points connect to your CSMS, up to thousands at once. A physical charger can connect to TimeTick as its backend.

02
We check

We check every OCPP message, status code and meter value against the protocol and the expected result.

03
You get

A test run with full logs and a PDF report. Repeat it after every release, or schedule it to run automatically.

Every run repeats the same scenarios and checks, so you can compare results from one release to the next.

“Our collaboration with TimeTick has significantly enhanced our QA processes. With full set fracture support for OCPP 1.6 and a wide range of 2.0.1 simulations, we are able to thoroughly validate complex EV charging scenarios, including V2X charger behavior. TimeTick consistently provides outstanding support and delivers uniquely customized features, helping us ensure the highest quality standards across our systems.”
